Glitch Text Generator
Turn plain text into distorted, digital-corruption style Unicode. Still readable, still copy-paste anywhere. Discord, TikTok, Instagram and more.Glitch and Zalgo text are built from the exact same trick, so it is easy to assume glitch is just Zalgo turned down a notch. That is true technically, but it misses the point. Zalgo aims for illegible, overflowing chaos. Glitch text is built to stay readable — enough visual noise to look corrupted or digital without burying the word underneath.
That is why glitch text shows up in different places than Zalgo. You will see Zalgo in horror Discord servers and creepypasta posts. Glitch text shows up in gaming tags, tech-themed bios, and cyberpunk-style edits — anywhere someone wants a “system malfunction” look without sacrificing legibility.
Want the heavier, dissolving-text effect instead? Try the Zalgo Text Generator — same mechanism, pushed much further.
Both styles rely on Unicode combining marks — small characters normally used for accents (like the tilde in “señor”) that can technically be stacked on any letter, in any number, by any generator. Glitch text just uses restraint: a handful of marks per character instead of dozens, which is why it stays legible instead of turning into visual noise. Want the full technical breakdown, the actual Unicode range involved, why it renders identically on every device? That is covered in detail on the Zalgo page, since the mechanism is identical.
Discord, Instagram, Twitter/X, and WhatsApp all display glitch text cleanly in posts, bios, and messages. TikTok handles it fine in captions; usernames can occasionally trim the taller marks, so lean light-to-medium there. Roblox is still the pickiest of the group — its filters catch a lot of stacked-mark text, so stick to the lightest setting for anything in a username field.
